The backdrop of blue oceans was rare in the 70s and 80s, as Bollywood filmmakers preferred shooting in Mumbai, Alibaug, or Goa when they needed to show the sea or beaches in their films. However, after the release of the super-duper hit song “Shayad Meri Shaadi” from the movie Souten, starring Rajesh Khanna and Tina Munim, filmmakers became fascinated with showing the blue ocean in their films. The song was shot on the Ile Aux Cerfs island of Mauritius, which turned out to be a big hit because of its picturization. By the late 80s and 90s, Mauritius became a hotspot for Indian filmmakers.
